Yahoo's Chief Executive Terry Semel said on Monday that the Internet media company is working on a desktop search program that would help people find information stored on their computer hard drives.
"Yahoo is working on it. In short course, we'll have a desktop solution as well," Semel said at an investment conference in Scottsdale, Arizona which was broadcast over the Internet. He did not say specifically when Yahoo's desktop search program would be released.
So we now have another giant plunging into the desktop search tool wars. I think this would be a second software after Yahoo Messenger from Yahoo. A computer user just can't more than this. Google, Yahoo, Microsoft - each one trying to outdo the other with more innovation and features. I still wonder what the long term plan of these compies are ? How will they generate revenue by offering free products ?
I have a wishlist for these companies here.
