Capcom showcased quite a lot of information about its upcoming titles at this year's E3 2011 conference, and Dead Rising 2: Off the Record was no exception, as fans got the chance to see the return of Dead Rising 1 protagonist Frank West.
Dead Rising 2 became a big success for Capcom and, after releasing a downloadable epilog, in the form of Dead Rising: Case West, the company is now getting ready to debut Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. The new title sees Frank West, photojournalist and star of the first Dead Rising game arrive in Fortune City, the setting of the second title, and try to uncover the truth about the new zombie outbreak."The new “Off the Record” storyline means an all new Dead Rising 2 experience," Capcom said. "Frank will face off against more twisted enemies, build more outrageous combo weapons, follow his own unique mission structure and explore brand new areas of Fortune City to get his biggest scoop yet. Join Frank as he indulges in the insanity of “Uranus Zone,” Fortune City’s very own theme park. Full of deadly rides and crazy attractions, the sci-fi themed Uranus Zone is a true zombie-killing paradise."The return of Frank West means the return of his trusty camera, as players can once again earn Prestige Points for capturing specific moments of gameplay, which are ranked by several criteria like horror, drama or brutality.Capcom also explains that Dead Rising 2: Off the Record brings with it an array of technical improvements over its predecessor, with shorter load times, better network performance for multiplayer and plenty of other tweaks to the actual gameplay.Dead Rising 2: Off the Record is set to appear for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this fall, and will retail for $39.99.Until then, players can enjoy a batch of new screenshots and two videos of the game below.
